Ice cubes and running

This morning while I was laying on my bed, Devin ever-so rudely pulled my blanket out from under me. Sheepie also was taken to get "stinky"  aka washed.

Devin brought the laundry over to Nana's to hang on the line. I was left home to fend for myself. I didn't even get a KONG!   That's only because Devin was super sneaky and sneaked out with me believing there would be a prompt return.

Anyway, this afternoon we went to Nana's for a quick visit and to pick up the laundry.  I had a few ice cubes while I was in the house, then Devin took me for a walk.
In the words of David - Poo Noos (Poo News):  I didn't poop so back we walked to Nana's. I had several more ice cubes while I laid around Nana's backyard..

Devin called me to "come". I found a comfy piece of grass to lay down on instead.  I decided it was nap time.
Nana feeding me ice cubes
Sure i'll have some more. Thanks Nana!

Oh, there's more!
Then I got the case of the "short lived" zoomies.  Just as I got up, Devin gave me the "ah ah ah" and i stopped dead in my tracks.
Rolling around on the ground, pre zoomie
Weeeeeeeeee
Mid- Chomp. I love these little cubes of ice!
I decided it was time for another snooze.  Devin told me that I look like I'm running when i'm napping.

Wag wag wag

I love the outdoors

I played in the backyard for a brief time.  Devin forgot that I had a bunch of ice cubes.   That being said, Devin tossed a ball that belonged to Dutches (black lab next door to Nana's).  Devin only tossed it 3 times for me. I chased after it like a bat outta hell.   After only a few chomps at the ball Devin took it away from me.  My gums were a bloody mess from the picky ball.   Not to mention it was a bit too warm to be running after anything.   I laid down in Dutches' backyard until Devin told me it was time to head home. up I popped like a jack in the box.   All those ice cubes I ate decided to make a reappearance.   Let me tell you this, they are not as good coming back up as they are going down. *barf*   I shot liquid out of my nose, and Devin thought there was some that came out of my nose too at the same time.

Lesson of the day:  NO RUNNING when it's warm outside, especially after eating so many ice cubes *burp*

That was pretty much my excitement for the day.  I got to play for a brief time in Nana's backyard and wander around free there too.   It feels nice not to have Devin attached to me 24/7.  I mean, I'm soon to be 7 yrs old.  I'm a big boy. :)

I'm baaaack! Photos and more photos New Brunswick 2013

Where do we even start after the lengthy absence?   I think we've been back from vacation for about 2 weeks.

We had a lovely time at the camp this year.  Devin gave me more freedom.
More freedom equals: not being on a leash while snoozing on the deck.  I went from inside the camp to walking directly to my bed which was on deck.  I laid there watching the chipmunks, hummingbirds and other small critters go about their business.

I spent only a minute or two in my large "fenced" area.  Devin placed me in there while running into the other camp for a moment. I didn't mind being in there, I laid down and looked around.

Bugs and other crawly things
The skeeters were in an abundance this year.  Apparently the bats down home are experiencing an illness called "white nose", this is causing them to die off.   Good thing I had my Camp Greyhound (Karen) Skeeter spray!

We were infested with black ants for about 3 - 4 days.  I was laying peacefully on my bed inside on the camp floor, when Devin saw me licking my lips in an odd fashion.  I then started to paw and rub my face on the bed, Devin leaped up to see what was going on.   YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME........  An ant crawled into the opening of my nose, Devin had to pick at the tip of my nose to get that darn thing out of there!  It was holding on for dear life.  Without injury to myself, Devin freed me from the ant; the ant wasn't so lucky.
From there on out, Devin kept a close eye on me while i was laid on the floor.

Speaking of things that creep around.  Devin spotted a large spider on my bed while I was outside laying on it.  Devin isn't one for spiders; at all!   However, my life was saved.... again.  Devin flicked the spider clear off my bed. My Hero!!

Swimming
When it would start to get too hot, Devin would bring me down into the lake and we'd wade around.   I'm more of a shore lounger.   A few times Devin carried me out to the sandbar.  I was then eased down into the water. I awkwardly grew sea legs this summer.  My swimming skills aren't super, but they get me to where I need to go. Devin was always within arms length from me, encouraging me to swim.

When we were done swimming Devin would lift me up and place me on the dock.  I'd stand there leaning up against Devin for a while, while I acquired my land legs.  Good thing Devin let me lean, otherwise i would have fallen off the dock and back into the water.   Swimming is tricky!

Visitors
Auntie Shelley came up from Jacksonville, Florida to visit for a week and a bit.  I was full of happy tail wags and hellos.  She played target touch games with me and fed me treats.  I really like my Auntie Shelley.
When Shelley and Nana would come to the door together, I'd push past my Nana to see my Auntie.

Photo time: So many photos were taken before, during and after my vacation, that I'm not sure where to start.  It's hard to choose which photos to showcase, I happen to think I look rather handsome in all photos.

I brought part of the newspaper to my KONG towel to shred.

As David ( David's Best Mate ) would say, it's very important to be Cleen an geenics.  It's also very important to clean your Lambies; because they can't clean themselves.
All done cleaning .  z z zz
Now slowly getting back into a routine.  Devin came home from the night shift this morning. Devin just wanted to go to sleep...

Hello, Devin... I was just enjoying my snooze
Out for my morning graze
