Life update

Since I last blogged, I had an exciting few weeks.

All of my stitches from my dental last month have finally left my mouth.  My teeth are still nice and clean.  Dad did start using the antibacterial mouth rinse on me, but I seemed to starting having intestinal issues around the same time.  He wasn’t sure if it was a result of the rinse or not, but has since stopped using it for the time being.
Now that the stitches are all gone, it’s easier for him to get in there and give my teeth a scrubbing.  He’s been using a soft bristle toothbrush and water to get in there and clean things up.

Last Sunday while Dad was at work and Auntie stepped out from 6pm-11pm, one of the cats knocked off their UTI health chews container from the microwave onto the floor.  I made a pig of myself and ate most of them. I say most, because no one was around to actually count what I ate, but the humans know that out of 100, 6 were “given” to the cats.  Needless to say, this resulted in be being sick from both ends.  When Auntie got home, I was brought outside (sick bottom end), when we got back inside, I was sick (top end).  I had really bad poopies (if you can even call them that) for several days.
I fasted for 24hrs, consuming turkey broth (dad had that on hand), then a few pieces of turkey with broth.   I was also given a regime of Slippery Elm Bark. Dad in the past 2 days was able to stop giving me that.  Things are SLOWLY turning back to normal for me.  I’m eating cooked extra lean ground beef – that works better than bird for me.
I started out with .5cups and slowly working my way up.  I had 3 / 4 cups for breakfast, and that proved to be a touch too much. Dad dropped it back down to .5cups for supper tonight with some pumpkin (I’ve been eating pumpkin like it’s going out of style).

On October 1, a day before my 9th birthday I got a house!!  Dad, Auntie Shelley, Me and the two cats are living in a house now.  I enjoy laying on one of my beds (when a cat isn’t on it) in the kitchen.  It’s a good locale area where when my eyes aren’t closed, I can watch people in the living room and whoever is coming or going into the house or into other rooms.

I turned 9 years old on October 9th, 2015.  Can you believe I’m already 9??
Corns aside, I still feel pretty good.  Dad bought me a honky pig for my birthday, while Dad gave me a card with money in it.  When Dad was organizing from the move, he found my card from Christmas from Nana; it still had money inside it!
I haven’t given a lot of thought into what I’d like that money spent on….

Most recently Dad took me over to the newly fenced school to have a look at any openings.  We decided to go into the little kid play yard. There’s only one entry/exit.  We found a tennis ball, I ran after it for a bit. It was all fun and games until someone has a ball fall from the sky onto their nose.  I stood there blinking my eyes and stunned for a bit.  Dad tried to get me to interact with him and the ball, but I wanted nothing to do with that thing. I stood there watching it roll on by me.  Meh…  New off leash (after hours) play area! Score!!

That’s it for me.

The tooth fairy missed my house....

This past week I went to Camp Greyhound.  While I was there, Karen brought  me to my doctors appointment.   I had a full blood work panel done; once I was given the green light, Dr. Paul and his staff helped me drift off to sleep.  When I woke up I was missing 9 teeth!

I wish someone would have told me about the tooth fairy before they disposed of my teeth.

I was given a swag bag with wonderful things:
1) antibiotics (they taste yummy)  - Gideon keeps trying to break into the container to steal my meds.
2) antibacterial mouth rinse
and
3) This gift was for dad  - a print out of my ECG.
Last week when Dad called the clinic to see if a print out was possible, the woman had said they didn't have that capability.
Dad was sad, he wanted a print out of my heartbeat to make a neat tattoo with it.
Fast forward to post surgery; when the vet tech called to give Dad and update on how I was making out, she was very excited to tell him that she was able to get a print out of my heartbeat.

Post surgery, Karen gave me Arnica to help with the swelling and stuff.  It worked wonders. My mouth is healing up quite nicely, and I didn't need any pain meds.  Dad has been on me about not zooming around and mouthing at things when I get excited.

Side note * I'll be able to brush my teeth in about 1-2 weeks.  Dad of course is going to help me with that.

Here are a few photos that were snapped of my daily over the last little while:

Still hanging out with Auntie and that strange cat (gideon)
Dad stripped my bed to clean the cover :(
Holding on for dear life. Dad also took the cover off this one too. It didn't go back on the same way...
Dad thought he heard a thump then dismissed it.  Should have went looking. Gideon stole a pork chop from the stove while I slept....
